Gifts For 11 Year Old Boys

It does not matter if you are 8 or even eighty, if you really love vehicles and enjoy playing about, then racing remote control cars can offer you with endless hrs of fun and excitement. But there exists challenges that you have to cross right before you get to the race track and, should you be a beginner to the community of radio controlled vehicles then there are a lot of things which you will want to consider.

Many people are astounded at just how entertaining the whole world of rc car racing has become these days with modern hobby cars reaching speeds of 60 mph and including complex suspension system systems that have been tuned in much exactly the same thing way as those on a real car. But maybe the best component of today's radio control vehicles may just be the wide selection of unique vehicles available.

Whenever the time comes to buy your very first radio control car you will want to begin by considering three things:

1. Are you wanting to buy a ready-to-run car or perhaps to design your own car from a kit?

There is no doubt that designing your own car has its own advantages, not least the fact you'll find it easy to maintain the vehicle and in addition make modifications to it if you choose to, this is certainly a rather difficult option for the beginner. Even though they are a little more expensive, for younger racers and to get you ready to go quickly, you may be best advised to start with a ready-to-run car and then move on to designing your own remote controlled car at a later date.

2. Do you want an on-road or an off-road vehicle?

On-road vehicles (on-road here relates to a smooth, flat surface instead of the road itself) are made for speed and are clearly the option if you want to race your vehicle.

If, however, you are not mostly worried with racing then there are quite a lot of cross-country vehicles available just like trucks and buggies that could offer immense fun negotiating rough landscapes, obstacle courses and even jumps.

3. Are you wanting a power vehicle or a nitro operated car?

Electrically powered cars offer the most basic option and employ rechargeable batteries. They are clean and quiet but, for a wide selection of hobbyists, they lack the realism that gives radio control car racing its true excitement.

Nitro operated cars, on the other hand, produce sound (tuned pipe), sights (smoke) and smell (exhaust) of a actual car. They do nevertheless require notably more upkeep than their electric alternatives and this is something that the novice has to take into account. Even though the quality of nitro powered cars in the past left a lot to be desired, in recent years they have been greatly improved in terms of not only their performance but also their safety and reliability.

Having considered the options of ready-to-run or kit cars, on-road or off-road and whether you want an electric or nitro powered car, the next step is to visit your local supplier and take a look at the huge range of cars available.

Then its time for some practice before you head off to the race track.
